Orient fashion for AW/17

October 2, 2017

During September Laine & Co. were busy travelling around Europe, soaking up all of the latest trends and style inspo in the hopes of applying it to our own designs for next season. The orient fashion trend is nothing new; it has made an appearance numerous times before but this time it has come back – bigger and better! Japanese fashion has heavily influenced British fashion trends on both the high street, main stream stores and designer stores. With New York and London fashion weeks behind us, it is becoming very apparent what we will be seeing in the stores next year in Australia and New Zealand! At fashion week brands such as Gucci, Prada, Burberry and Erdem displayed elements of the Oriental fashion throughout their range, from woven motifs to opulent floral designs and elaborate embroidery. Gucci experimented with dramatic oriental prints such as sun rays on silk, dragons, tigers and floral embroidery. If you’re considering updating your new season wardrobe with all things orient-inspired take your cue here and consider origami inspired silhouettes, wrap around skirts or a stylish kimono jacket. If you aren’t brave enough to try the kimono how about a touch of gold embroidery to update your wardrobe. We are excited to show you some of our oriental inspired prints. Stay tuned..
